The Chesco Pops will perform three concerts in January and February of 2012. The Pops will appear at J. R. Fugett Middle School in West Chester on Sunday, Jan. 22; at Phoenixville Area High School on Sunday, Jan. 29; and at Oxford Area High School on Saturday, Feb. 4. All concerts will be at 3 p.m.
Titled From Basin Street to Broadway: A Tribute to America’s Musical Roots, the program features Sousa’s Semper Fidelis March, medleys from Ragtime, Chicago, 42nd Street and Louis Armstrong hits, circus music, blues, spirituals, Latin favorites and jazz selections performed by the Chesco Pops Dixieland Band.
The Pops is under the direction of WCU Professor Emeritus, Jacques Voois. The 65-piece orchestra comprises many of Chester County’s finest instrumental players. Since its founding in 2005, the Pops has presented 40 concerts in more than a dozen county venues.
For the Winter 2012 Series, the Pops will again be partnering with local community non-profits. Concertgoers will enjoy the show and also support the ongoing activities of the Chester County Historical Society, the Phoenixville Public Library and the Oxford Area Senior Center. A percentage of ticket revenues will be donated to each partner.

Community Arts Calendar Notice for the Chesco Pops Orchestra
The Chesco Pops will present three performances between January 22nd and February 4th, 2012.
Concert locations, dates and times are:
1) Fugett Middle School, West Chester, Sunday, Jan. 22;
2) Phoenixville Area High School, Sunday, Jan. 29; and
3) Oxford Area High School, Saturday, Feb. 4.
All concerts will begin at 3:00 p.m. and conclude at 4:35 p.m.
Theme of the program is “From Basin Street to Broadway: A Tribute to America’s Musical Roots.” Featured group is the Chesco Dixieland Band, performing three Dixieland jazz favorites.
